Frequently Asked Questions
What happens to meals if I don’t use them by the end of the semester?
Residents: Meals remaining at the end of the semester cannot be carried over to the spring semester. Any remaining meals will be forfeited. Unused meals on the Husky 14 plan will be forfeited at the end of each week. Meal plan weeks are Saturday-Friday. Munch Money remaining at the end of fall semester will carry over to spring semester if you are on the Anytime or 14/week plans. Converted Munch Money from the 160 plan will not carry over from any semester. All meals and Munch Money will expire at the end of each academic year.
Commuters: Those who have purchased a meal plan in the Garvey Commons office as a commuter student will not lose meals at the end of any semester. Rather, you have your meals and Munch Money until it is all used up.
Where can I use my meals?
You can use your meals at Garvey Commons and Munch Money at any Sodexo dining location on campus.
Can I use my meals for a guest?
You can use your Munch Money or cash to pay for a guest. If you are on the 160 plan you can use a meal to pay for a guest.
Do I have to have a meal plan?
It is a University policy that if you are a freshman living on campus you must be on a meal plan. If you are living on campus but are not a freshman, you do not have to have a resident dining plan, you can choose a commuter meal plan which can be purchased in the Garvey Commons office.
When can I change my meal plan?
You can change your meal plan during the first week of classes each semester.
What if I am a vegetarian, vegan or have a special diet?
Not a problem! We offer many healthy selections and have vegan/vegetarian options available. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, please stop by the Garvey Commons office and we will be happy to address your needs.
